I have a friend who says salvation is based on “steps.” When I questioned her further, she said that means accepting Christ as her Savior, getting baptized, and being obedient. This is obviously against the Scriptures which clearly teaches trusting Christ as your Savior is the only way to Salvation. How can I best present this to her besides the usual John 3:16 or Ephesians 2:8,9 because she seems to know all the basic Scriptures, studies God’s Word daily, yet can’t see the light!

I understand that in the Jewish alphabet, each letter has a number also. There are many in these last days, who think Javier Solana is the anti-christ in the making. Does his name add up to 666?

A pastor I heard recently preached that after the rapture, those who had been given an opportunity to accept Jesus and had rejected Him and were thus left behind would not have an opportunity to accept Jesus post-rapture. I question the accuracy of his belief. Can you shed any light?

A discussion about the involvement of America in the End Times scenario came up and we were looking at Revelation 18. In this discussion, some felt that the U.S. fits the description given to Babylon. Do you believe the U.S. fits Babylon or do you have a better country in mind?

I have a question regarding Satan. If he indeed studies scripture to know what he knows about the future, then why didn’t he know about Jesus’ coming crucifixion and what it was going to accomplish? I have read that if he could look into the future, he would have never let it happen. Am I missing something?

I lead a small group in our church. One of the couples seem to be very good at getting us off-track from the study. As a leader, I don’t know how far to let the discussion wander from the point. Do you have any insights into the issue of leading small group discussions?

I have a friend who had the same beliefs as I, and within the past few years has ended up being what he calls a Historical Realist, but seems to be more of a Preterist. He believes ALL prophecies were fulfilled in 70AD. Do you have any strong scripture references that Jesus’ teaching at the Mt of Olives was NOT referring to 70AD? Also do you know where I can find solid proof Revelation was written in the mid 90sAD?

I read in a commentary on Genesis 9:24 that Ham committed a homosexual act upon Noah and that that was what “Noah knew what his son had done to him” and why, in verse 25, he cursed Canaan. Is this correct or just speculation on the part of the commenter? Thanks for any clarification.

What is your opinion concerning the timing of the Rapture and Isaiah 17? If Damascus is destroyed prior to the rapture, as some believe it will be, how will the world be anything but “normal” knowing that a nuclear detonation has taken place in the world?
