A Bible Study by Jack Kelley
Students of prophecy often pay more attention to Matthew’s version of the Olivet Discourse because of its greater length and detail. But when we ignore Luke’s account, we miss one third of the Lord’s message. That’s because the disciples asked the Lord three questions and in Matthew 24 He only answered the last two. And it’s Luke’s answer to their first question that confirms the whole message. Read Post »

Q. When is it the right time to share the Gospel?
Recently saved myself I have many family members that are not and several other members of my family are saying that i should be patient and wait for God’s timing to share the Gospel so as not to offend them. Read Post »

Q. I was watching the news, and learned of a church’s pastor who was robbed at knife-point. He told the news reporter that we should not return evil for evil, maintaining his passive view.
I have always believed that we have the right to self defense. Some say Jesus was a pacifist. But doesn’t fly with me, because He cleared the Temple of moneychangers and livestock with a whip fashioned from ropes. He also told the disciples to sell their coats to buy swords for self-defense. What does the Bible say about self defense of one’s life, family, and property? Read Post »

Q. In the gospels Jesus is often quoted as saying that if you do not do something, you will not reach the kingdom of God, or see it or attain it.
Recently our pastor pointed this out and said he didn’t want to “upset our evangelical upbringing” but that it’s true. I think he was talking about forgiveness specifically, though there are other instances where Jesus says similar things (such as Matthew 7:21, Mark 10:15, etc). Read Post »

Q. I received teachings from bible passage in Hebrews 8 & 10 that God will put His laws in our minds and hearts so that we would follow them. So can believers today depend on our hearts’ desires to help us make decisions in life(since the bible says he has written His laws in our heart),is the interpretation biblically correct? Read Post »

Q. I urge you to prayerfully reconsider your advice that a Christian should go to a gay wedding. How can a Christian celebrate something that is an abomination to God? How could one even congratulate this sin? There are many ways to show Christian love to someone involved in the sin of homosexuality, but I can’t believe that attending a so-called wedding is one of them. Isn’t it more loving not to attend? Q. I just listened to a sermon by (a well known evangelical pastor). He said that he would NEVER marry two men or two women. He didn’t care if they lived together or had a contract together but marriage is holy and God does speak out against it!!! You told that person that by attending that wedding she wasn’t condoning it. Oh yes they were. Condoning means to accept or treat something as acceptable. Jesus did hang out with sinners. But He is God … we are not. Read Post »

Why have you rejected us forever, O God? Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture? Remember the people you purchased of old, the tribe of your inheritance, whom you redeemed— Mount Zion, where you dwelt.

Read Post »
