Advice on Healing

Q. I am facing some big decisions. My kidneys are failing and I need to go on dialysis and I have peripheral artery disease in my legs. The Dr. says he can help my legs with surgery but I need to start dialysis first. I also have 2 valves in my heart that will need repair sooner or later. I sort of know where you stand on healing and I have been prayed for.  My question is, I don’t think I have the faith to stand and claim my healing. I don’t want to offend God but I don’t feel I am strong enough to wait with the possibility of something devastating happening (ie leg amputation).  I have enough faith to believe Him for my salvation but I’m not sure about the healing process.  I need some spiritual advice.

A. My advice in matters like this is to pray for a supernatural healing, always keeping your mind open to the possibility that the Lord will choose to heal you through the medical profession.  After all, miracles happen in operating rooms too.  And be sure to follow Paul’s advice to the Philippians as well.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:4-7)

If you stay focused on seeking God’s direction, neither opening nor closing any doors without prior prayer, He will guide you through the process in a way no one else could and you’ll be at peace.
