Praying For Peace

Posted in: Ask a Bible Teacher

As Christians we are told to pray for the peace of Israel. It is my understanding that when Israel feels at peace it will be the set up for a major delusion/attack on them. So, aren’t we praying for the Lord to hasten when we pray for Israel’s peace?

Q. As Christians we are told to pray for the peace of Israel. It is my understanding that when Israel feels at peace it will be the set up for a major delusion/attack on them. So, aren’t we praying for the Lord to hasten when we pray for Israel’s peace? Or did I get this all wrong?

A. No, you got it right. When we pray for the peace of Israel, We’re praying for the Lord’s return because He’s the only one who can bring peace to that troubled land. The false peace that serves to set Israel up for Ezekiel’s battle will be due to their reliance on man, not God.
