Who Should I Pray To?

Posted in: Ask a Bible Teacher

I have had difficulty knowing who I’m praying to when I pray. I’ve read we can talk to any of the Godhead or our Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
I don’t know how to think or feel about praying and becoming close to God when He is 3 persons. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Q. I have had difficulty knowing who I’m praying to when I pray. I’ve read we can talk to any of the Godhead or our Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. When I’m praying it is usually to the Father but then I don’t feel like I’m cultivating a relationship with Jesus. I don’t know how to think or feel about praying and becoming close to God when He is 3 persons. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

A. In John 14:13 it’s suggested that we pray to the Father, asking for things in Jesus’ name. You can cultivate a relationship with Jesus by praising Him for the blessings you receive. The Holy Spirit is that little voice within you that offers guidance and direction. You cultivate a relationship with Him by listening.
