Anti-Christ And The Four Horsemen

Posted in: Ask a Bible Teacher

We know that the Antichrist is introduced in Revelation 13. Then who is the rider on the white horse in Revelation 6? And who are the other three? Are the four riders of the apocalypse an overview of the Tribulation, and then broken down in phases later in the book?

Q. We know that the Antichrist is introduced in Revelation 13. Then who is the rider on the white horse in Revelation 6? And who are the other three? Are the four riders of the apocalypse an overview of the Tribulation, and then broken down in phases later in the book?

A. The anti-Christ first comes on the scene as a peacemaker, and as such he’s seen by the world as the ultimate “man on a white horse.” It’s later when Satan is cast to Earth and inhabits him that his true personality will emerge. Thus we have two views of him in the Revelation. One in chapter 6 and one in chapter 13. The four horsemen symbolized the first four of the seal judgments and are not intended to represent an overview of Daniel’s 70th Week.
