More On The Number 40

In your studies, does the #40 have anything to do with Gods covenants and the launching of dispensations? Do you find any significance in the 40th anniversary of Jerusalem Day last week, the anniversaries of Christian Pentecost (our calendar) and the Jewish Pentecost (Jewish Calendar)?

Q. In your studies, does the #40 have anything to do with Gods covenants and the launching of dispensations?

Do you find any signifance in the 40th anniversary of Jerusalem Day last week, the anniversaries of Christian Pentecost (our calendar) and the Jewish Pentecost (Jewish Calendar)? As I understand these all take place between May 16 and June 10 2007.

Did Noah disembark approx. May 27?

A. In the Bible, the number 40 seems to denote testing. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights. The Israelites wandered on the desert for 40 years. Moses, Elijah and Jesus fasted for 40 days, etc. I’m not aware of any connection between the number 40 and covenants or dispensations.

I wish I could believe that after 40 years the testing of Jerusalem is complete, but I’m afraid it’s not. But with the anniversary of Jerusalem’s reunification, and Pentecost it looks like a great time for the Rapture. I’ve thought for years that if the Rapture did come on a Jewish feast day, it would be Pentecost. We’ll soon find out.

When Noah came out of the Ark on the 27th day of the 2nd month, the first month of the year was Tishri, Sept-Oct on our calendar. At the time of the Exodus, hundreds of years later, it was changed to Nisan or March-April. Also since the days of their months don’t correspond to ours, the 27th day for them is not the 27th day for us. So, no. Noah didn’t disembark on the 27th of May. Sorry.
