Bible Prophecy

When studying prophetic books of the OT is there an
easy way to know which prophecies have already been
fulfilled in the past and which have not if its not
real obvious, without being a history buff or
theologian?

Q. When studying prophetic books of the OT is there an easy way to know which prophecies have already been fulfilled in the past and which have not if its not real obvious, without being a history buff or theologian? Do Bible dictionaries and commentaries help with that? Any suggestions?

A. Commentaries that look at Scripture from a prophetic perspective can be very helpful. So can study Bibles that focus on prophecy, like the Scofield Reference Bible, for instance. Dr. John Walvoord, former dean of Dallas Theological Seminary, wrote a book that listed all the prophecies of the Bible. In fact its title is “All The Prophecies In The Bible.” During his lifetime Dr. Walvoord was known as the dean of prophecy scholars.
