A. I believe this verse is simply stating a historical fact. God had promised Eve that one of her seed (offspring) would redeem them from the consequences of of their sin. When Cain slew Abel it disqualified both of them, so Eve thought that God had appointed Seth as the likely redeemer, replacing Cain and Abel. The name Seth means appointed. She was wrong in the literal sense because Seth didn’t redeem them. But she was right in the spiritual sense because a descendant of Seth’s, Jesus, did.

There’s no Scriptural basis for the view that Abel’s death and replacement by Seth was a foretelling of Israel’s death and replacement by the Church. Israel and the Church are separate and distinct entities.
