Ezekiel 38 And The 6 Day War

Posted in: Ask a Bible Teacher

Why, in your opinion, did the 6 day war and the 1973 conflict not meet the substance of the Ezk 38-39 war? Obviously I expect that Turkey who did not participate is part of the answer, but Russia was very involved in both. Because as I sit, those two wars were pretty dead on. Where am I wrong?

A. Yes the absence of Turkey and several others is part of the answer, but the clearest one is that these battles didn’t produce the outcome that Ezekiel prophesied. The enemy soldiers weren’t buried in Israel, and their weapons haven’t provided any fuel. Neither the Gentile nations nor Israel came away from those battles convinced that the God of Israel had revealed Himself to them as Ezek. 39:21-22 require. Nor has the bulk of world Jewry come back to Israel to fulfill Ezek. 39:28 The Battle of Ezekiel 38 is still in the future.
