Present With The Lord

A. When a believer dies, his or her spirit goes immediately to be with the Lord and the body is buried in the ground. This is the message of 2 Cor. 5:6-8. Then at the resurrection, the spirit is re-united with a recognizable but vastly improved sin free body fit for eternity.

It’s important to remember that the part of you that’s really you is your spirit, which lives forever. Your body is just a container in which your spirit dwells while here on Earth. It can be discarded in favor of a new one at God’s direction.
