New Temple Questions

Posted in: Ask a Bible Teacher

I am not clear on the new Temple location. When Jesus put his foot on the Mount of Olives and the earth quake happens does He then go through the Golden gate to the temple?

Q. Thanks so much for your articles on the end times.

I am not clear on the new Temple location. When Jesus put his foot on the Mount of Olives and the earth quake happens does He then go through the Golden gate to the temple?

A. In my opinion, The new Temple’s location will be just north of Jerusalem in the Biblical town of Shiloh where the tabernacle stood for 400 years.

The passage you quoted from Ezekiel tells of the Shekinah Glory, or Holy Presence of God, returning to the Temple through the East (golden) Gate.

Then the man brought me to the gate facing east, and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing waters, and the land was radiant with his glory. The vision I saw was like the vision I had seen when he came to destroy the city and like the visions I had seen by the Kebar River, and I fell facedown. The glory of the LORD entered the temple through the gate facing east. Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. (Ezek. 43:1-5)

Following that the gate will be closed and no one else will be able to enter through it. (Ezek. 44:1-2) The Bible doesn’t ever speak of the Lord Jesus using that gate, or even visiting the Millennial Temple.
