Birth And Resurrection Dates

I was wondering why it isn’t common knowledge exactly
what dates Jesus was born on, and resurrected on? Have I missed something, or do you think we aren’t supposed to know the answers for some reason? Thank you so much.

I find it hard to comprehend how we can’t know the exact dates and years for both of these, when we base our whole current calender on the first (which as I understand is about 4-7 years off), and our eternal destination on the second? Have I missed something, or do you think we aren’t supposed to know the answers for some reason? Thank you so much.

A. Passover is on the 14th day of the first month of the Hebrew calendar which usually comes between mid March and mid April on ours, but this year it’s on April 20th. It’s marked on most western calendars. The Lord rose from the dead on the Sunday morning after Passover. In 2008 April 27 is the anniversary of the Resurrection so you haven’t missed it.

Although no exact date has ever been discovered, I believe the Bible tells us that the Lord was born on the first day of the 7th month on the Hebrew Calendar. It’s called the Feast of Trumpets, or Rosh Hashanah, aka the Jewish New Year. It’s also identified on most western calendars between mid Sept. and mid Oct. In 2008 Rosh Hashanah begins at sunset on Sept 29.

Because the Jewish calendar is different than ours, these dates change from year to year, but if you look for the Jewish New Year, you’ll have His birthday, and the Sunday morning after Passover will give you the anniversary of the Resurrection.
