Receiving The Holy Spirit

Q. Holy Spirit Question.  I ‘m newly saved, and have fallen in love with the Word Of God. Can a saved person today know if they have received the gift of the Holy Spirit?

A. Ephesians 1:13-14 says, “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.”

The Holy Spirit was sealed within you the moment you first believed.  As part of this process He has selected at least one Spiritual Gift for you to help you make your unique contribution to the Body of Christ. These gifts are listed in 1 Cor. 12:1-11 but I would encourage you to  read all of chapters 12-14  for Paul’s entire teaching on the subject. Then ask God to reveal the gift He’s given  you.
