Are All Children Saved?

Posted in: Ask a Bible Teacher

Common sense tells us that all children and those unable to make a decision for Christ due to mental capacity will be taken in the Rapture, but is there anything in the scripture to back this up?

Q. Thanks again for a great site.

Common sense tells us that all children and those unable to make a decision for Christ due to mental capacity will be taken in the Rapture, but is there anything in the scripture to back this up?

A. Matt. 18:10-11 says that all children have guardian angels in constant contact with God. In 1 Cor. 7:14 Paul writes that even the children of mixed marriages are sanctified by the believing spouse. In Romans 7:9 Paul also wrote that he had life until the commandment came. Then sin sprang to life and he died. That means that before he reached the age when he became accountable to the Law, he had eternal life.

These passages give ample evidence of the fact that children and others who lack the mental capacity to fully comprehend the salvation message belong to God.
