Who Is The Bride? Follow Up

Posted in: Ask a Bible Teacher

Q. If there’s no difference between believers as far as being the Bride is concerned, what heavenly benefit is there for those who love the Lord so much that they want to please Him and be “after His own heart”…as He describes King David….versus someone who just stays a baby Christian and never comes to know Him in a very personal way?

A. There are 2 reasons to grow in our faith.  First and most important is that it’s the way the Lord wants us to express our gratitude for what he’s already given us.  And second, it’s the key to unlocking blessings for ourselves here on Earth. But the catch is that if we’re doing it just for the purpose of receiving blessing, we disqualify ourselves because it proves we’re not responding out of gratitude but out of a selfish “what’s in it for me”  attitude.

The criteria for receiving heavenly blessings are different and are described in the 5 crowns we can win, along with the admonition to store up treasure in Heaven through our generosity here.  (Matt. 6:19-21)
