Is Jesus Everywhere?

Posted in: Ask a Bible Teacher

Q. I know that God, The Father, is present in everything in the universe but, I wonder if Jesus, being God, is present in many, if not all, places in the universe, in His immortal body, or if He can only be everywhere at the same time spiritually.

As I, and many, many others always say, thank you for all you do and for your astounding wisdom and thank God for giving you to us.

A. I think I know what you mean, but there’s a fine line here that’s worth mentioning.  Some believe that God is everything in the creation and everything is God.  This is called pantheism.  Christians believe that while God is omni present in the Creation, He’s not part of it.  Rather He’s the Creator.

As a Spirit, God can be everywhere at once.  In His physical body, Jesus can only be in one place at a time, although it seems He’s able to change locations almost instantaneously. I believe this is one of the limitations He accepted in becoming a man to save mankind.
