Judging The Righteous And The Unrighteous

Posted in: Ask a Bible Teacher

Q. How could the Lord indiscriminately send judgment on both the righteous and the wicked in Ezekiel 21? Maybe it show us that we as well will go through the Great Tribulation?

A. At the cross Jesus took all our sins upon Himself and gave us all His righteousness. When we accept Him as our savior we become as righteous as God Himself. (2 Cor. 5:21)  The Israelites in Ezekiel’s time only had the their own righteousness to commend them, and it was not sufficient spare them from God’s judgment. (Romans 3:20)  We have God’s righteousness and it is.  If God were to allow us to be judged in the Great Tribulation, He would be saying that His death was not sufficient to save us.
