Animal Sacrifice, Follow Up

Q. I recently read your article entitled “Animal Sacrifice in the Millennium”.  I just don’t understand why innocent animals will continue (in the Millennium) to be condemned to suffer for the sins of man, especially when Jesus himself died to cleanse us of our sins?  I read through the scripture you quoted, and I don’t see how it supports this practice.

As I understand it, man was condemned to eat the flesh of animals after Adam and Eve fell from grace in the Garden of Eden.  Before that, they ate the fruits and vegetables God provided, as it states in Genesis 1:29 and Genesis 2:8-9.

A. In the passage I referenced, Ezekiel 45:13- 46:15,  animal sacrifice is called for in 45:15, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 25, and 46:2, 4, 6, 11, 12, 13, 15, for a total of 14 times.  (Burnt offerings and sin offerings require animals.) One point of the article was to demonstrate the difference between life on Earth during the Church Age and in the Millennium. One of these differences is the return to animal sacrifice.   Remember the Church will be in the New Jerusalem where there will be no animal sacrifice. It’s only for the people living on Earth.

Man was created a vegetarian.  In Genesis 9:3, after the Great Flood, man was given the option of eating meat.
