2012 Article. Date Setting?

Q

Re: Your 2012 article. Good one, Jack! My only concern is with the last two paragraphs reading as they do, some are going to say you’re date-setting the rapture to occur by 2012 at the very latest. I don’t think that’s what you’re doing, but I suspect you’ll likely be accused of it. I may be wrong, hope so, but I’d be willing to bet people are going to get 2012 tunnel vision by the time they get to the end of the article as you’ve given them a lot to chew on. Great research on the piece by the way. It’s going to be HUGELY read I suspect.

If you add the paragraph just above the ones you referenced to the mix, you’ll see that what I said was “I believe God will use these and other End Times judgments to begin putting the Earth back into the condition it was when He gave it to Adam.” Earlier in the article I also commented on the similarity between these secular findings and Bible prophecy. (It shows the coming End of the Age is not just for Christians anymore.) And I said that I only used prophecies from the first half of Daniels 70th week . Pre-trib believers already know that the Rapture will precede these judgments.

Finally, the Bible is clear that believers on Earth at the time will not know the day or hour of the 2nd Coming. But the Lord commanded us to understand Daniel’s 70 weeks prophecy, He criticized the Pharisees for not being able to read the signs of the times, and had Jerusalem destroyed for not recognizing the clearly foretold time of His visitation. And Paul warned us not to let events leading up to the Day of the Lord take us by surprise.

By the way, I’m already on record as saying that I believe Daniel’s 70th week will likely begin around the end of 2011 with the Rapture happening sometime between now and then. I don’t believe that’s the same as naming the day and hour.
