Doers Of The Word. Follow Up

Q

Regarding the Doers of the Word . When you say the only work that has any merit is work we do at His prompting and in His strength, would that include preparing and serving meals for those in need and things like that? We know He wants us to help those in need but what if we don’t necessarily feel that we were prompted for this specific activity?

A

It’s not the particular kind of work that matters, although helping the needy is something the Lord specifically mentioned several times. What matters is that we consult with the Lord about doing something and receive confirmation that it’s consistent with His will for us, and that we refuse to accept any credit we receive for doing so but redirect it to Him.

It’s quite possible that God placed the desire to do this in your heart. But if you’re uncertain about it, ask Him to confirm that it’s the right thing for you.
