Forgiveness Vs. Consequences

Q

God has forgiven every sin that I have done, as well as those I will still do. So the full price was paid for all my sins. When I regret what I have done, I repent before God and ask forgiveness, knowing He has already forgiven me. But my question is, what about the consequences of my sin?

A

As born again believers we’re forgiven for all our sins and will enjoy eternal life with God. But we should still expect to bear the consequences for our behavior. If we’re caught stealing and confess, God will forgive us. But we could still go to jail for our crime. He’ll forgive us if we leave our spouse, but we’ll still have to deal with the pain we’ve inflicted upon our family. Heavenly forgiveness does not automatically deliver us from Earthly consequences.
