How Does That Glorify The Lord?

Q

I must be missing something, I just don’t get it. You say in your answer to when will animal sacrifices stop that when the Lord returns sacrifices will begin again and will continue throughout the Millennium. Why? How does the slaughter of innocent animals for 1000 years glorify the Lord? And why would a loving God want that?

A

Through out the first 6,000 years of the age of man, the only time God has not required the sacrifice of innocent animals has been during the Church Age. As soon as the Church is gone, animal sacrifice will resume. It will be discontinued again during the 3 1/2 years of the Great Tribulation because the anti-Christ will desecrate the Temple making sacrifice impossible (Daniel 9:27). It will resume again after the second coming and will continue throughout the final 1,000 years that we call the Millennium (Ezekiel 40-46).

Remember, during the Millennium there will still be sinners on Earth, and the shedding of innocent blood is one of the things God requires to be able to dwell among sinful people (Hebrews 9:22). Animal sacrifice was always required as evidence of man’s faith before the Church and will be required again after the Church is removed by the rapture. Only the Church is saved by grace through faith alone.
