On The Timing Of Ezekiel’s Battle
Thank you so much for the article about 7 things you should know about prophecy. The only thing that I don’t understand is the Ezekiel 38-39 battle happening right after the rapture and before the false peace (at the beginning of Daniel’s 70th week).
Q. Thank you so much for the article about 7 things you should know about prophecy in the prophetic update newsletter. The only thing that I don’t understand is the Ezekiel 38-39 battle happening right after the rapture and before the false peace. It was my impression that Gog and Magog and the other countries would come down on a land at peace, dwelling safely in unwalled villages???
A. The perception of peace that creates conditions for the Ezekiel 38 attack is not the false peace at the beginning of Daniel’s 70th week. In fact it’s the shock the world experiences as a result of Ezekiel 38 that sets the stage for the anti-Christ and his false peace. The word translated “safety” in Ezekiel 38-39 also means careless and can stem from a policy of appeasement similar to the conditions that existed in Europe just before the onset of WW2.
The new Israeli government has promised to unilaterally withdraw from much of the West Bank. The idea is to shrink their borders around Jewish population centers and separate them from their Arab neighbors. This could give them a false sense of security. If the US bombs Iran it could also help promote this feeling among Jews.
