Prophecy Questions

Q. Are the 10 kings in bible prophecy already in place and if so who are they? Am I correct in thinking the United States of America is not or will not be one of them since they must come from one of the revived Roman Empire countries? And is it also correct to think one of these kings could be Russia? Was Russia once part of the Roman Empire? And am I understanding correctly that born again Christians will be raptured before the 11th king emerges to conquer the 10 thus identifying himself as the antichrist? And that Ezekiel 38 will most likely happen AFTER the 3 1/2 years of the tribulation period when Israel is living in peace and safety? And my last question is, what do you think of the current situation with Russia and Georgia and how this plays into Bible Prophecy?

A. The 10 kings are not in place yet. Some think of them as actual kings and others think of them as kingdoms since the Greek word is the same. Some of those who think of them as kingdoms see the world divided into 10 regions, each with its own leader but all under the rule of the anti-Christ. They see the EU as an example of how this will happen. The current talk of forming a North American Union consisting of Canada, the US, and Mexico could be another. Russia was not part of the old Roman Empire, but would likely be included in one of these 10 regional kingdoms.

I believe the Rapture will occur before the anti-Christ is officially revealed, but I think that Ezekiel 38 will happen before Daniel’s 70th week begins, which means it will precede the Great Tribulation as well.

It’s too early to determine if the Russia/Georgia issue will impact end times prophecy. It might just be another birth pang.
