Putting On The Full Armor Of God

Q. When I plead the blood of Jesus upon myself, family and friends, and put on the Armour of God, a Christian friend told me that it is not necessary to do both, either one is sufficient. Is this so? Thank you so much for your site it has been of immense help to me. God bless you in all you do.

A. When Paul admonished us to put on the full armor of God (Ephes. 6:10-18), he didn’t intend for us to ever take it off. A Christian should always be clothed in the full armor of God, since we never know when the devil will attack. He doesn’t come after us only when we’re ready, but looks for an opportunity to catch us unprepared. But being fully prepared doesn’t make praying for your family’s protection unnecessary. We should be praying for each other at all times (Ephes. 6:18)
