Q. I discovered your web site last month. I’m delighted that you are so focused on Ezekiel 38&39. I’ve been fascinated with this prophecy for 35 years and have never seen it so close to fruition. I’ve been appalled at the appeasement policy of Sharon and then Olmert. It’s as if General Patton turned into John Kerry or Mac Arthur into British Prime Minister Chamberlain before WWII.

The Hebrew word betach may also be interpreted as incautious appeasement according to Strongs Concordance. What do you think?

A. That’s a good point. With the Israeli government announcing that it will unilaterally set Israel’s borders, the thinking may be “If we give them all the land they’ve demanded, they’ll be satisfied and leave us alone.” A false assumption, I’m afraid, but it could lead them to believe they’ve found a path to peace.

Palestinian President Abbas recently said that unilaterally setting the borders would lead to war within 10 years. A prophetic statement if I ever heard one.
