Same Sex Attraction

Q. I am a 22 year old Christian male with same sex attraction(not in a gay lifestyle) and haven’t had counseling yet.  My relationship with God has seemed like a mess and  no connection for over year now.  In fact, I have a fear that I wouldn’t go to heaven if I died.  I also have a fear of rapture/tribulation that I’d be left behind.  Could this SSA be a stumbling block in my walk with God?  I have considered talking to a pastor about it.

A. From what you’ve said I believe it certainly could be a stumbling block.  See your Pastor, get some prayer, and get back into fellowship with God.  Read 1 John 1:9 and ask for His forgiveness. Then study 2 Cor. 10:3-5. You can’t lose your salvation but you could be in for a tough time if you don’t do something.
