Are the Times of the Gentiles now complete since Israel has possesion of Jerusalem?

Q. Are the Times of the Gentiles now complete since Israel has possession of Jerusalem?

A. In Luke’s account of the Olivet Discourse, specifically Chapter 21 verse 24, Jesus said that after the Romans destroyed Jerusalem, it would be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles were fulfilled. When Israel recaptured East Jerusalem in June of 1967, most prophecy scholars saw it as the fulfillment of this prophecy.

If we’re correct then all end times prophecies up to and including the 2nd coming will be fulfilled within 70 years from that date, or by June of 2037. That’s because He also said that those being born at the time the fulfillment of End Times prophecies began would still be alive at their completion (Matt 24:34). According to Psalm 90:10 a Biblical lifetime is nominally 70 years.
