The Third Day

Q

I’ve long been interested in the wedding in Galilee as a clue to the rapture or second coming. I found upon researching the “third day” in scripture that the Bible brings out some very interesting facts/events on the “third day.” I’m wondering if you’ve done this study, and if so, if you feel there are clues in scripture re. the rapture or second coming?

A

I don’t know if this will help in your study or not, but I learned the significance of weddings on the third day during one of my visits to Israel. It was a Tuesday and we were in Tiberius on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. In a park where we were having lunch I noticed several young women in wedding attire and asked our guide about it.

He said it was a tradition from ancient times that Tuesday was the best day to get married. Tuesday is the third day of the week in Israel and the only day in the creation account over which God pronounced a double blessing (Genesis 1:10 and Genesis 1:12). Therefore Tuesday is known as the day of double blessing, which makes it a great day to get married.
