United Or Divided?

Q

Do you think that the church will ever be united and stop the “in-house” fighting? I know the end time church will be small and lack influence, but will doctrine become a non issue? Will we be about Jesus and Him only? I just don’t see how this thing plays out before the rapture.

A

According to my understanding the opposite will happen. The “in-house” fighting in the Church will result in a major rebellion (2 Thes.2:3), evidence of which we can already see.

Paul wrote about people abandoning the faith to follow the doctrines of demons (1 Tim. 4:1) and other false teachings that will be popular but not scriptural (2 Tim. 4:3).

Peter said in the last day scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires saying “Where is this ‘coming’ He promised?” (2 Peter 3:3-4) as if to say those who believe in it are misled or uninformed because everything will keep going on as it has from the beginning.

John said many who have “the spirit of anti-Christ” will appear as a sign of the “last hour.” He said they will have come from within the Church, but never really belonged to us, because if they did they would have remained with us. Their going out will show that none of them belonged to us. (1 John 2:19)

The middle ground between true believers and believers in name only is quickly eroding, and the majority of those who call themselves Christian will find themselves on the wrong side of the split when the time comes.

But to the faithful Jesus said. “Because you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the Earth” (Rev. 3:10).
