Where Is God?

Q

I see no God in my life. He says to Love Him. How about showing us His Love. I am sick & tired of living. I have suffered my mental illness and many other physical and mental issues all my life and what for? I am in a marriage where my conditions make life for my wife hell and I do not want to continue on this way. We have prayed for years and so have others for Divine Intervention in our marriage and in my life and as of today which is our 24th marriage Anniversary, I am just worn out trying to love an unlovable God. All I see in this world is the destruction of man, body & soul. God is nowhere to be found. Why does the Bible say one thing and yet it does nothing what it says God will do? Why should I go on living in an ungodly World and a God who does hear the screams of prayer toward Him? No one seems to be able to answer my questions and I am tired of waiting on God to deliver me from my anger, fears and etc. You would think that after 30 years as a Christian he would answer me, but alas he does not.

A

I’m so sorry for your suffering.

God made the ultimate gesture of love by dying for you so you could live forever with Him instead of spending eternity suffering much worse than you already do. If you’ve received Him as your savior, one day soon all of your problems will be over and you’ll begin the eternal phase of your life whole and happy and healthy forever.

In the meantime, we can’t control the circumstances of our lives, but we can control our reaction to them. Your misdirected anger toward God has actually compounded your problems. He didn’t bring the conditions you suffer from on you. They’re the consequences of sin in the world. He created a perfect world, but it was spoiled by sin, and stolen from Him by our great enemy Satan (1 John 5:19). But soon, when all who desire to become His have done so, He’s coming back to reclaim it and set things straight.

By being so angry with Him, you’ve cut the lines of communication. You should be angry at Satan who’s the real cause of your problems. He’s tricked you into believing it’s all God’s fault, when it’s God who died to save you. Ask the Lord to forgive you and restore you to fellowship with Him, and keep asking till the anger is gone and peace returns. When you ask with all your heart you will receive. Resist the devil and he’ll flee from you and leave you alone.

God will never leave you or forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6) When it feels like He is far away, we are the ones who have moved. Draw near to God and He’ll draw near to you. (James 4:7-8)
