I had a question concerning Revelation chapter 5, I know tradition says that the Church is in heaven in chapter 5 because of the rapture in chapter 4 verse 1. I think this view is held because of reading the Revelation strictly from a chronological perspective as opposed to reading it first from a spiritual perspective. I read chapter 5 backwards and forward and didn’t see the Church when the living creatures the 24 four elders and the angels are praising the Almighty.
Revelation 5:9-10 KJV says:
And they sung a new song, saying,
“Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”
The Church is the only group that can make this claim. Only the Church has been redeemed by the Blood of Christ, from every kindred, tongue, people and nation, to become kings and priests who will reign with Him.
