Who Will Go Up In The Rapture?

I have a question on the falling away or apostacy: if there is a great falling away before the rapture who will go into the rapture?

Q. I have a question on the falling away or apostasy: if there is a great falling away before the rapture who will go into the rapture? I am a pritrib dispensationalist but I cont know how to answer this question.

A. In 2 Thes. 2:3 Paul warns of a falling away (apostasy) before the Day of the Lord. Most interpret the phrase Day of the Lord as pertaining to the 2nd Coming, not the Rapture. This falling away is accompanied by the appearance of the “Man of Lawlessness” (anti Christ).

In verse 7 Paul explains that the anti Christ can’t make his appearance until the One who holds him back is taken out of the way. The One who holds him back is usually identified as the Holy Spirit, sealed within the Church.

Therefore the Church has to be raptured before the falling away and appearance of the anti Christ. When the anti Christ causes the Abomination of Desolation (Verse 4) the Great Tribulation begins. 3 1/2 years later the Day of the Lord will come.
