My church is one of the “purpose driven churches”, and true to the discernment ministries criticisms it suffers from a lack of depth in its teachings. However, I must say that what it does teach from the pulpit is error free – just shallow. My question is in my serving in this church which has the problems I recognize, am I wasting my time?

Have you read “The Footsteps of the Messiah”,by Dr. Arnold G. Fruchtenbaum? If you have,on page 129 and 130 he is discussing other pretrib events.He says that Joel 2:31 will take place before the tribulation. He also says Elijah will come before the tribulation according to Malachi 4:5,6.

In Rev 21. It says in v.9, Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and spoke with me, saying, “Come here, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” and what they’re talking about is the New Jerusalem. I don’t get how we are the Church, the wife of the Lamb, and the New Jerusalem is the wife of the Lamb as well.

I was reading Luke 11:29-30. It is the passage where the crowds asked Jesus for a sign, but answering them, Jesus said that no sign would be given them except the sign of Jonah. I’m a little baffled as to why Jesus would phrase it this way since He’d been doing miracles left and right all this time. Weren’t those signs as well?

I am currently reading ‘The Problem of Pain’ by C.S. Lewis and in one respect, I am understanding and in another respect, I feel very confused. My mind is trying desperately to wrap around the concepts presented here. My question is this: Does anything we do here make God happy? Does He ever look down on us and smile?

I am a totally born again, sold out to God Christian. I know in my heart that Jesus is coming back soon. As a matter of fact I can hardly think of anything else. I daydream about being able to boldly witness to so many people that God puts on my heart and I just lose courage.
