Tithing, A Misunderstood Principle

Being married to an unbeliever I am at odds as to whether to tithe or not. What’s the answer to tithing in this case?

Why did God permit men to have several wives? I read that King Solomon had several hundred wives, not counting his three hundred concubines, etc.

I have read some things by Clarence Larkin and in one of his books he seemed to think that since we were made in the image of God that we were similar in our physical anatomy as the beings in heaven.

Q. Re: Rev. 21-22. In this commentary you mention the reversal of the axis and orbit and water canopy. I have to tell you, that is reaching. While I am a Bible believing Christian. There is no evidence for this “water canopy”. Also if we were not on the axis and orbit we are now, we wouldn’t even be here, it is one of the “fine-tuning” evidences FOR the existence of God and our special place in the universe not against it. While I am not here to criticize, I think it better that this kind of rhetoric be left out and we stick with what we have stated in god’s Word.
A. You write as if you’re certain of what you say. What is your understanding of Genesis 1:6-8 below?
“And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which [were] under the firmament from the waters which [were] above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.”
The Hebrew word translated firmament means sky, or atmosphere. These verses say that at one time there was a “layer” of water above our atmosphere. It apparently collapsed during the flood (Genesis 7:11) since it hadn’t rained on Earth before then.
And the idea that God had to fine tune His creation, implying that He didn’t get it right the first time, conflicts with my understanding of His ability. The tilt of our axis changed the climate at the Earth’s extremities to make them uninhabitable and the lengthened orbit caused a change in all the world’s calendars that’s recorded in man’s history. If these were the “fine tuning” that made it possible for us to be here, how did man exist before then?

When a Christian dies, do they go to “sleep,” until the time Jesus comes to rapture them, or does their soul or spirit go directly to heaven? Do they wait for their resurrection body while they are up there?

I’m having trouble with this week’s chapter (of the Bible Study we’re doing in our small group). The author is wanting to use Moses’ time in Midian as a negative thing – that he lost sight of his dream for freeing the Hebrew slaves after starting his new life in Midian.

To whom do we give this ten percent? There are very few churches that teach the truth. My husband will not give ten percent of his salary for many reasons. This bothers me a lot, but I don’t feel free to give my husband’s salary.

I have a question concerning baptism of the Holy Spirit. Recently I was in a conversation with another Christian and was asked if I was saved. When I replied yes, they then asked if I had been baptized in the Holy Spirit and could speak in tongues.

My question is about debt. Anymore, it’s almost impossible to not have some debt. I have student loans from college. I have a mortgage and a couple of small interest free credit card balances. I tithe faithfully and I’m gradually paying these off while not incurring any more debt.

I have an old Friend who is a Minister for a Community Church. He really has different views on the Church and Israel, the rapture and so on. He believes that we are currently living in the Millennial Age, That the Church represents Israel, The Temple has already been rebuilt and destroyed. How should I handle this, and is he actually saved?
