The Powerful Delusion

A Bible Study by Jack Kelley  (updated version of an article first posted in 2006)

The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. (2 Thes. 2:9-12)

A Cup of Trembling

Commentary by Jack Kelley

This is the word of the Lord concerning Israel. The Lord, Who stretches out the Heavens Who lays the foundations of the Earth, and Who forms the spirit of man within him declares, “I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem.

On that day when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves” (Zech 12:1-3).

Don’t Believe Anything I Tell You

A Bible Study by Jack Kelley

The Fall Feasts are over for another year, Harold Camping’s latest date has passed, and the Comet Elenin has come and gone with no discernible effect. Hours of YouTube presentations, some very skilfully done, have been proven wrong and still no rapture.

Why Sept. 29 Will Not Fulfill Rev. 12

A Bible Study  by Jack Kelley

Judging by the questions I’ve received, a youTube video and an online article have apparently convinced a lot of people that the fulfillment of Rev. 12 and the rapture of the Church will both occur on Sept 29th of this year, which is the annual celebration of Rosh Hashanah, also known as the Feast of Trumpets. Can this be true?

The Way Of Cain

A Bible Study by Jack Kelley

Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD. But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.

Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.” (Genesis 4:2-7)

Seven Things You Have To Know To Understand End Times Prophecy … Part 1

This entry is part 1 of 3 in the series Seven Things You Have to Know

Beginning a 3 part study on the End Times  by Jack Kelley

With all the killer storms, earthquakes, wars and disease dominating our news, it’s not surprising that people are becoming more interested in End Times Prophecy.  Even non-believers are wondering if the end is near. What is surprising is how little most Christians actually know about prophecy, especially since by some accounts it comprises nearly  40% of the Bible’s content, more than any other topic.

Pentecost 2011

A Bible Study by Jack Kelley

In 2011 Passover was celebrated beginning at sunset on April 18. On the Hebrew calendar sunset marked the beginning of the 14th day of Nisan. No matter what day of the week it happens to be, Passover always comes on the 14th of Nisan. It’s like Christmas in that regard, which always comes on the 25th of December no matter what day of the week. “What’s that got to do with Pentecost?” you ask.

Is God Judging Us?

Commentary by Jack Kelley

The weather is in the news again and I’ve received a number of questions about it. With another 500 year flood along the Mississippi and the worst tornado season since the 50s people are once again wondering if God is judging us for our sins. So we can better understand what’s going on here’s some perspective on the issue.
