Q. I was recently accused of character flaws at work. One was talking harshly to people and another was demonstrating a poor work ethic. I have felt conflicted about how to respond in my heart to such criticism. How can I discern whether this is Satan accusing me and causing me to feel guilty or whether it is God convicting me of sin? I have asked God to forgive me if I was wrong in any way. Still, I can’t seem to answer the question: Is this Satan attacking me or God trying to teach me? How can we as Christians tell the difference?

Q. I have a question concerning 1 Cor. 5:9-11 about not associating with believers who behave in certain ways. My brother is not a born again Christian, but we are witnessing to him, and yet his live-in girl friend claims to be a Christian. They both go out and get drunk etc. Should we not even associate with them because of that verse?

Q. I just got through reading your article from a few days ago about Paul, Timothy and the end times. As I was reading, the passage of 2 Timothy 3:1-5 absolutely cut me to the quick. I have been greatly struggling and feel as though I would be lucky to be the person who gets in to heaven simply as the man who “slides in though the flames” in Corinthians 3:15. I feel that my faith is proving itself to be nothing more than a form of godliness whose power I am denying. Any words of encouragement and help would be a blessing.

Q. I read in your article where Paul cautions us not to associate with believers who live sinful lives. I have a dear friend whose family is not living a Godly life (in my opinion) but she’s a new believer. Her children ask me questions all the time about God and the rapture and Hell as does she. She truly believes what I tell her and professes Christ to everyone, but she has not left her worldly behaviors behind, even though I’ve talked to her about it. So, my question is am I sinning by associating with her?

Q. I’ve heard a few preachers say that as Christians, we must observe, or maintain certain OT rituals, laws, feasts, etc. I thought that with Christ’s death and sacrifice those were no longer necessary. As born-again believers and Christians, are we to still observe Old Covenant and/or Old Testament laws & rituals?

Q. This past month the pastor of my church had asked the congregation to enter into a 21-day “Daniel fast” as in Daniel 10:2-3. We were to consecrate ourselves, seek the Lord’s will and then His guidance to fulfill that will. The end result was to be an action plan for the coming year regarding our family, finances, whatever we wished. Knowing our God knows better than I, I left the door open to His direction from the get-go. I asked for nothing in particular … only that he would lead me in paths of righteousness.

Q. Paul laid a lot of emphasis on the need for the old man/flesh/carnal man/self to be crucified. What is your take on knowing that whatever you yield your members to, his servant ye are, and more over shall we continue to sin because we are under grace?

Q. I was reading through the article you wrote regarding the Seven Churches of Rev. 2 and 3 (part 2, specifically). When speaking about the death of Tammuz and his mother’s 40 day mourning period, in parenthesis you stated that today it is referred to as Lent. Forgive me if I misunderstood your point, but since you went on to list other pagan influences I assumed that our modern day observance of Lent is also influenced by pagan rituals/beliefs. Since we are currently observing Lent, it bothers me to think that I am ignorantly participating in a pagan-based observance, rather than a Biblical one. Am I correct in inferring that Lent is indeed pagan-based, and that I should not be participating in it?

Q. John 5:17-18, says “In His defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I too am working.”” At this point they tried to kill Him because He made Himself as high as God by calling God Father. When we pray, Jesus tells us to say “Our Father Who art in heaven” When we call God Father, are we also making ourselves as high as God? Would you please explain it to me?

Q. I understand that it is God’s Will that I be sanctified. And I understand from Romans 12:1-2 that I am transformed by renewing my mind. How do I renew my mind so all the Spiritual Gifts in my spirit can be released ? I understand that until I do this, my mind remains with the leftover old programming from my old nature ! My biggest area of defeat is my emotions and anger in particular. Thank you so much for this web site and all your sound spiritual advice.
