Q. In John 3:1-15, Jesus is speaking to Nicodemus about the need for a person to be “born again”. When Nicodemus ask Jesus, “How could these things be?” Jesus basically said, “You are a teacher in Israel and still you don’t know this?” Since The Mosaic / Levitical laws emphasise obedience to the 10 Commandments and their derivatives, what could Nicodemus have studied that would help him understand spiritual rebirth?
Also, are there any Old Testament prophecies that point to the Church age and the unique characteristic of believers being permanently indwelt by the Holy Spirit?

Q. I was wondering what your source is when you say according to “Jewish history” or “Jewish tradition” is. I listen to your mp3 tapes all the time in fact I burn them to a disc a listen to them during my morning drive to work. I have searched the Internet over and cannot find a Jewish tradition or Jewish history site. I really enjoy all the historical background that you add in all your sermons. If I could only find a preacher like you, I would show up every Sunday to church.

Q. Your article on evil was terrific. It’s such a joy to learn from someone who thinks Biblically and is conversant with Scripture. But one thing you said got me curious. You talk about Lucifer’s original purpose being to guard the throne of God. What did it need guarding from? Couldn’t God guard it Himself?

A Bible Study by Jack Kelley
(At sunset on Sept. 18, 2009 Israel began year 5770 on the Hebrew Calendar. As I often do with articles that commemorate annual events, I have updated this study on the Fall Feasts and added new information for your review. As you can see, I’m also posting it a day early to coincide with the start of Rosh Hashanah.)
The fall is arguably the most important time of the year in Judaism. Three of Israel’s holiest days are celebrated then, and all in the space of 15 days. They are Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, followed 10 days later by Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, and 5 days after that the week long Feast of Tabernacles. On our calendar they usually fall (no pun intended) some time between mid September and early October due to the differences between the Jewish (lunar) calendar and the western (solar) one.
Each of these holy days has both historical and prophetic significance, the prophetic fulfillment to occur on the day itself. Therefore Christians study them for glimpses into the future as well as to gain a better understanding of Jewish culture. Read Post »

Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD; O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared.

Q. You know the story. God had forsaken Saul, so he went to the witch at Endor, and she summoned Samuel for him…or did she? When you read the story in 1 Samuel 28:16-19, it happened just like the prophet said. Saul and his three sons joined Samuel in death. The Lord also delivered Israel and its army to the Philistines, (1 Sam. 31:1-70.) Can you explain all this?

Q. In a previous article you wrote:
“I believe it was always the Lord’s intention that we remain an agrarian society. Building cities, inventing labor saving devices, and pursuing activities associated with leisure and self fulfillment all came through the rebellious line of Cain.”
Where is it written that Cain’s line was rebellious? After Cain’s banishment, Genesis 4 does not appear to pass moral judgment his decedents or on their activities: Where did the negative characterization of Cain’s line originate?
