Q. I am a born-again Christian.  I know this.  But a while back ( and even now occasionally) I had serious doubts.  There was a point where I was devoid of faith and it seemed like all was lost. I wanted to believe, but I just couldn’t. I read the bible, and it would help, but then I’d get a sense of hopelessness and belief would become impossible again.  It came to a point where I asked for signs that He was real and He delivered in the form of an unknown call on my phone shortly after I had asked. then, a text saying Jesus never fails, and finally, out of the blue a friend texted me cause she felt like something was wrong. I’ve read that once you were saved nothing could change it, but what about you?  What if you decide that you don’t believe anymore? Can you come back?  The prodigal son explains that the son comes to his senses and begs his father but the son never forgot the father.

Q.  I came across a website that opposes Eternal Security.  The author has a lot to say and has scripture references to back up everything he says. I’d like to know what you think and maybe point out anything wrong with his opinion.  I am really beginning to doubt the OSAS doctrine and honestly question why the Gospel is even called the Good news.

Q. I have some friends who believe in conditional salvation.  I firmly believe it’s impossible for us not to sin and therefore our salvation has to be unconditional.  One of my friends sent me to a website that supports conditional salvation.   Most of its claims are easily refuted, but there is one article regarding the seal of the Holy Spirit that I’m having trouble with.   It said the seal can be broken.   Can you please help me with this?  Read Post »

Q.   I was saved at a very young age before I was truly subjected to the evils of this world and as I grew older I drifted away from God. In my teenage years I was in full backslide mode and using drugs, and one night while under the influence of drugs I renounced my salvation. Just typing those words makes me sick, the night the words came out of my mouth I immediately felt pain and regret for uttering such a thing.  Later I re-dedicated myself to God, but my question is can someone who is saved renounce their salvation? Q.  After reading OSAS,Really? and many  of your other responses concerning OSAS, I can’t help but wonder why some “Christians” still have a hard time understanding the concept.  Its a simple concept and is backed by strong unrefuted verses. I have discussed this with some believers who don’t believe in OSAS and they never refute the verses that support OSAS outright but instead refer to other verses. Is it because they are really unbelievers who haven’t  genuinely accepted Christ alluding to the possibility that they haven’t been born again, therefore spiritually dead, or is it simply a lack of understanding intellectually?

Q.  Several times you’ve said we’re saved forever and nothing can change that.   Doesn’t that mean that Christians are free to do whatever they want without fear of any consequences?

Q.  You say that all children including babies and the unborn go to heaven if they die before they reach the ‘age of accountability’. That means they must already possess eternal life. When they reach the ‘age of accountability’ and sin they then have to believe the gospel and be born again in order to be saved and go heaven when they die. But if all children from the womb to the ‘age of accountability’ already possess eternal life how can they lose it? You say that once saved always saved (OSAS); salvation is eternal and can not be lost. Please could you explain from the scriptures how you resolve this contradiction.

Q.  I recently read an article that claimed the Bible offers no proof that our future sins are forgiven.  It says this is just an assumption that Eternal Security advocates have made.  It says if that was the case we wouldn’t need Jesus to be our advocate (lawyer), and that Romans 3:24-25 proves that only our past sins were forgiven.  I’ve thought of Colossians 2:13-14 “He forgave us all our sins …” as a rebuttal.  Are there others?

Q. Regarding OSAS, I believe many people wonder. What about repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I read “I repented before I knew the meaning of the word. I have repented far more since than I did then”. How do you compare “Believe on the Lord Jesus” and “repentance”? That’s not talked about much.
