Generation or Race?

Q. Thank you for your faithfulness in teaching the Word.  Question: Could “genea” of Matt. 24:34 mean “race, or stock of people”instead of “people alive at a certain time period”?  I’d certainly rather it mean the latter, as our time would surely be short
before we meet Him in the air! However, I’m aware that others, C. I. Scofield included,  interpreted “genea” to mean the former.

Revelation As Fantasy?

Q. I just found your website.  No offense intended, but your doctrine sounds straight out of the “Left Behind” series.   Isn’t Revelation better interpreted when seen through the eyes of its earliest audience to which it was written, i.e. the seven churches of Asia Minor.  There’s no end to the wacky stuff that can be attributed to Revelation when taken out of its context.  It’s apocalyptic material written to give comfort to the Christians who were being persecuted by the Roman Empire.   How do you avoid that?

More 2012 Follow Up

Q. I appreciate your answers and devotion to research. I watched the History Channel’s presentation about 2012. Since the Mayan Calendar and it’s purported accuracy are used as a source for the ‘prophecy” about the end of the world, I wonder what this calendar says about the time period around 900 AD and  the end of their society. I’m not trying to be argumentative but, this should have loomed pretty large on their list of events to watch out for.

Our Pastor Won’t Teach Prophecy

Q. We go to a Southern Baptist church and it is a Bible believing church. But they will not preach or have Bible study on Prophecy.  They say it is too controversial.  We don’t understand, its part of the Bible.  Is this part of the ‘falling away’ that we hear about?  We are very interested in prophecy and feel like we are missing out on 1/3 of the bible by this stance.

A Gap Between The Rapture And The 70th Week?

Q. My question is why you don’t write about the gap between the Rapture and the start of they 7 year Tribulation Period taking into consideration Psalm 83 and Obadiah, Verse 18? (maybe you have and I didn’t see it)  I firmly believe that Israel will destroy the Arab countries surrounding Israel (perhaps before or shortly after the Rapture); therefore, why aren’t those same Arab nations mentioned in Psalm 83 mentioned in the Magog War of Ezekiel 38 and 39?  They aren’t.

The Pale Horse Of Rev. 6

Q. The more I read your responses to our questions the more I realize that it is of the One and Only (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) !

My question; Sometime back one of the Christian stations had a scholar that is learned in the ways of Islam. He is a Christian now and believe that he fears the Lord. He brought up the Greek word “chlorous” from Rev. 6:8.    It always means green except there. Why is it that in Rev. 6 it is translated as “pale” which does seem not to fit.

The Seven Thunders Of Revelation

Q. Your site and articles are a blessing.  Can you tell me what the seven thunders of Revelation 10:4 mean? And why are they sealed? Could this possibly relate to the sealing of the words of Daniel?  Thanks so much for all your inspiration.

Changing The times And The Law

Q. I had a thought the other day, in Daniel 7, verse 25 specifically, it talks about the Anti Christ thinking to change the times and the law.   Is this saying he is trying to change the calendar? and international laws?  I find this interesting since all this hype about the mayan calendar ending in 2012, and it appears that we are heading to a one world government, just something I have been thinking about, but I want to clarify what Daniel is saying exactly. Thanks so much!

Describing The 2nd Coming

Q. Could you please explain Matt. 24:28?  I was once taught that the carcasses were the spiritually dead (non-born again believers) that the vultures come after. However, knowing now that Mt. 24 has nothing to do with the Church and everything to do with the Jews, I was wondering if perhaps it is referring to Jehovah coming to the aid of Israel during the tribulation.

Who Was Revelation Meant For?

Q. I was just reading your article on “No one knows the Day or the Hour”. It is very good. After many years of things that were viewed in the traditional sense that didn’t make sense, I finally realized that the Book of Matt. was all Jewish. Why would Jesus talk about things that were going to be revealed by Paul, anyway? The Church is no where in view in the Gospels.
