Q. I recently heard a preacher talking about how he was called to preach. He said a dead friend was sent to him and told him that God had called him to preach. I know the Bible talks about angels visiting us, but do you think God would allow someone who has died to come back and talk with us? I consider this different than when Moses and Elijah appeared to Jesus. What do you think?

Q. I have a question which I hope you can answer for me please, How would you answer someone who asked ; “If God in the New Testament is a God of love, how does that reconcile with God in the Old Testament who authorizes the killing of women and children – how is that love ?

Q. I am hoping that you can clear up your answer to me on 11/4 where you state “… that in some way we don’t understand He gave up His God-like powers when He came to Earth and became fully (and only) man.” However, in one of your earlier answers you state “Spirit led study will bring one to the conclusion that Jesus is God, and Hebrews 1:8 the Father is quoted as calling Jesus God, and the fact that Jesus is God in the flesh is well documented.”

Q. We were kicking the thought around last night at Bible school about whether or not Jesus had a belly button or not. The theory is if His blood was mixed with Mary’s it would be tainted by sin and “not” perfect. So we were thinking He (Jesus) did not need a bellybutton what do you think. Sort of like Adam and Eve did not have them.

Q. The book of John says that John The Baptist told the disciples that he didn’t know how Jesus was until the Spirit came in the form of a dove, but Mathew says that John stopped Jesus before the baptism to say he should be the one being baptized. I’m confused…if John The Baptist new enough to stop Him before the baptism, then how is it that in John he doesn’t know who He is until the dove?

Q. My son asked me a question about what happened (eternally) to those who lived at the time of the old testament, but maybe were not able to hear about God-will they go to Heaven? I think I remember something in the Bible that they should know there is a God because of the world around them—- Is that partially right? What did happen to those people who did not hear of the one, true God?

Q. Thank you for writing such excellent articles! They’re very informative and I always enjoy them. Your last article was of special interest to me because I have often wondered where evil came from? God surely wouldn’t create such a thing? does this mean that if Satan chose to do wrong that evil was created by God? and if the angels are given a choice then why are they not included in salvation?

I received a great question this week. A regular visitor wanted to know, is evil a “thing” or the “absence of good”? The writer went on to say, “I understand how evil entered creation via the fall, but it seems to me that something (evil) that had never existed before suddenly came to be.”

Q. Is there any translation, Greek or Hebrew, that would show that Jesus ever referred to God as “Papa”? I have recently been told by a retired minister that Jesus called God “Papa”. He attends the church that I used to go to. This same minister is also telling me that “The Shack” is a good book, “good” theology. However, I had read an article on line that described this book as promoting false doctrine.

Q. I have been subscribing to GracethruFaith.com for a couple of months, and continue to learn from your wonderful website daily. My question is this: If God is the Creator of all things, the Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent One of all there is, was and ever will be, did He, in all of his Wisdom and Knowing, also create Evil? And if so, why? And, if He did not, why doesn’t God, who is all-powerful, destroy Evil?
