Q. I was wondering your thoughts and feelings on Apple’s CEO coming out as being gay and saying it was the greatest gift God could give.
A. In an essay published by Bloomberg Businessweek Tom Cook, Apple’s CEO, said, ” I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me.”
It’s clear that the Bible calls homosexuality a sin in both the Old (Leviticus 18:22) and New (Romans 1:26-27) Testaments. All sins came into the world because of man’s disobedience (Romans 5:12), not because God gave them to us. And if you know how God feels about sin, you know He wouldn’t give anyone a sin as a gift.
The gift God gave us is a pardon from the penalty for our sins, purchased with the blood of His son, and available to all who ask (Matt. 7:7-8).
