En los tiempos cuando el \u201cfax\u201d era lo \u00faltimo en la tecnolog\u00eda de las comunicaciones escritas, a las oraciones r\u00e1pidas se les llamaba \u201coraciones fax\u201d para informarle al Se\u00f1or de nuestras necesidades inmediatas, como si el Se\u00f1or necesitara recibir informaci\u00f3n. Hoy se le podr\u00edan llamar \u201coraciones correo electr\u00f3nico\u201d, o mensajes de texto. Es la clase de oraci\u00f3n la cual Pedro de manera instintiva clam\u00f3 cuando se estaba hundiendo mientras intentaba caminar sobre el agua. \u201c\u00a1Se\u00f1or, s\u00e1lvame!\u201d<\/p>\n

Y pienso que David se encontraba rodeado de enemigos y estaba m\u00e1s dado a aceptar su infortunio que informarle al Se\u00f1or, y entonces emiti\u00f3 un ruego urgente pidiendo ayuda. En una forma, eso demuestra nuestra fe cuando lo hacemos, no solamente nuestra inutilidad. Cuando estamos en problemas grandes no acudimos a alguna persona que no creemos que nos pueda rescatar, como tampoco a alguien de quien no estamos seguros tenga esa habilidad, sino m\u00e1s bien acudimos a alguien que sentimos es la persona m\u00e1s capacitada.<\/p>\n

Alguien dijo una vez, \u201cSi usted quiere saber los verdaderos sentimientos de una persona, observe lo que hace cuando usted la sorprende sin aviso\u201d. Cuando somos sorprendidos por alg\u00fan desastre inminente e instintivamente pedimos ayuda, \u00bfa qui\u00e9n acudimos? \u00bfAl Se\u00f1or? Si es as\u00ed por lo menos podemos consolarnos sabiendo que nuestra dependencia en \u00c9l est\u00e1 asentada en la verdad.<\/p>\n

Pero tristemente, muchos de nosotros pertenecemos a lo que podr\u00edamos llamar \u201cLa Iglesia del \u00daltimo Recurso\u201d. Eso significa que intentamos todos los medios humanos a nuestro alcance para lograr nuestro propio rescate y si todo lo dem\u00e1s falla, empezamos a orar como \u00faltimo recurso. Decimos que no queremos molestar al Se\u00f1or con cada cosa peque\u00f1a que se nos presenta, pero la verdad es que, en el fondo, somos muy auto-dependientes. No nos gusta pensar que somos dependientes ni aun del Se\u00f1or. Es poner abajo nuestro auto estima, como si al volvernos a la oraci\u00f3n estamos siendo obligados a aceptar que no somos capaces de llevar a cabo la tarea de resolver nuestros propios problemas.<\/p>\n

Pero de vez en cuando, algo surge de la nada y nos toma por sorpresa. Entonces todas las apuestas se derrumban, todas las ilusiones de auto-dependencia se resquebrajan, y, como Pedro, clamamos, \u201c\u00a1Se\u00f1or, s\u00e1lvame!\u201d Y el Se\u00f1or lo hace, porque Su fortaleza se perfecciona en nuestra debilidad.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
