Isaiah 17 And The Rapture

Published: July 27, 2006 (Originally published: July 27, 2006)
Q

What is your opinion concerning the timing of the Rapture and Isaiah 17? Specifically, the Bible tells us that the rapture will occur as in the days of Noah and Lot. People will be going about their “normal” lives.

If Damascus is destroyed prior to the rapture, as some believe it will be, how will the world be anything but “normal” knowing that a nuclear detonation has taken place in the world? People will be in a panic mode. It will not be “normal?”

The End Times According To Ezekiel, Part 2

Published: September 3, 2014 (Originally published: January 26, 2008)

A Bible Study by Jack Kelley

As I said in part one of our study, Ezekiel ignored all of the post exilic period, the First Coming, and the subsequent 1900 year diaspora in his book, skipping from Jerusalem’s destruction in 586 BC all the way to the regathering of the Nation in 1948.

Ezekiel 38 Question

Published: June 27, 2006 (Originally published: June 27, 2006)
Q

I recently read your series of articles on “7 Things you must know to understand Bible Prophecy”–a very excellent portion. Thank you so much! I do have a question however, concerning Ezek. 38.

Everyone seems to think this could be fulfilled any day now, given the current situation in Iran, and their connections with Russia. If that were true, then of course the Rapture could be at anytime also.

However, in reading that portion of Ezekiel, it seems to me there are some very important criteria that have not been met, and that don’t seem likely to happen anytime soon. It seems very clear that when this portion of prophecy will be fulfilled Israel will be at peace and dwelling securely in the land. That is certainly not the case at this time–far from it!

It also mentions the attack is on horseback, and with quite primitive weapons. Is it possible that this portion is really an expansion of Rev 20, at the very end of the Millennium when the final rebellion takes place? It just does not seem to me to fit our current situation by any stretch of the imagination.

If not, then would it not be more likely that after some global crisis ( like Iran nuking us and Israel and everybody retaliating) that Antichrist appears on the scene to bring his “utopian” false peace out of the chaos? It is possible the church could still be here at that point, but then when the world is finally saying at last,”peace and safety”, God brings sudden destruction on them with the beginning of the seal judgments and the Rapture of the church. It could be at that time that Israel is dwelling “securely” in the land with no more walled villages, and builds their temple, due to their relationship to Antichrist.

Anyway,to me, it just does not seem likely to have Ez38/39 happening any time now… just wanted your thoughts.

My Grace is Sufficient For You

A Bible Study by Jack Kelley

For years the Lord has been done a terrible disservice over the issue of Paul’s complaint about the thorn in his flesh, and it’s time to set the record straight. If you’ve been taught that “My Grace is sufficient for you” was the Lord’s excuse for not healing Paul,

A Bible Study by Jack Kelley

We’ve come to the conclusion of the Millennial portion of the Book of Ezekiel, and of the book itself. After devoting 7 chapters (40-46) to the Temple and its offerings, the Priests and the Prince, the final two chapters (47-48) discuss the land in general,

Commentary by Jack Kelley

The two kings, with their hearts bent on evil, will sit at the same table and lie to each other, but to no avail, because an end will still come at the appointed time. (The Bible’s definition of diplomacy, from Daniel 11:27)

What Does The Bible Say About Israel’s Future?

Published: April 18, 2015 (Originally published: March 21, 2015)

Commentary by Jack Kelley

Contrary to all the polls and predictions Benyamin Netanyahu and his Likud party have won another election. Some Israeli observers are calling this a landmark victory, because it came in spite of (or maybe as a reaction to) unprecedented external meddling in the country’s election process.

Kings Of The North And South Update

Published: April 26, 2015 (Originally published: April 25, 2015)

Commentary by Jack Kelley

Over the past five years or so I have written several times about the middle eastern kings of Daniel 11 known as the kings of the north and the south. In these studies I’ve shown how these two kings will become prominent again in the end times as the Shiites (king of the north) and the Sunnis (king of the south) vie for supremacy in the Islamic movement.

You showed favor to your land, O LORD; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins. You set aside all your wrath and turned from your fierce anger. Restore us again, O God our Savior, and put away your displeasure toward us.
