I heard recently that the Catholic Bible contains 7 more books than does our own Bible. I wonder why there is a discrepancy. Were they originally included but removed later by Protestant reformers? Or were these extra books added by the Catholic Church after the original compilation of the Bible? Do they have any value to Bible believing Christians or should they be avoided as uninspired and possibly flawed? Thank you so much for your intellectual and spiritual generosity. It is interesting that in the last few years, Israel discovered the gas supply of their coast and the Shekel has appreciated by 15% over the last year and a half. So it seems that while the rest of the world is becoming worse off, Israel is becoming better off. Does this tie in with end time prophecies?

My church leader has said in the past; speaking about the Rapture, if you are in the nightclub when Jesus comes, He’s not going to stop by there to pick you up. I don’t go to nightclubs but, is this doctrine true of the Rapture?

From my research, I see that Daniel was taken captive around 605-600 B.C. Yet, while there, he was given a vision of prophecy that would take place 483 years into the future, the coming of the Messiah. I’m having problems reconciling the time leading up to Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday from the 69 weeks of Daniel’s prophecy and the time-frame that he was held captive. Did Daniel have an abnormally long life span?

I have often wondered what would have happened if the Jews had truly and officially accepted Jesus as Messiah; if the Lord’s reception on Palm Sunday had permeated the entire nation of Israel. Based on your broad knowledge and understanding of what Scripture reveals, can you speculate what would have been the course of history in the past 2,000 years?

Would you please help me with the understanding of Ps 2:7. There are those that teach that there is no eternal sonship and then this verse is quoted. I believe that our Lord Jesus was the Word and that the Word was with God and the word was God. This Word became flesh and dwelt amongst us. That all things were created by Him and for Him. The Bible also teaches that He was before all things and by Him all things consist. Does this verse refer to a time when the Father defined the role of the Son or is there another meaning?

On the Christian Forum I belong to, this statement was made: “Forget Matthew Henry commentaries and don’t force the bible say something it doesn’t say. There is, in truth, no such thing as “the church” (as defined since the 2nd century) mentioned in the bible whatsoever. That is a post-biblical (and quite intentional) error of translation that causes all kinds of contradictions of interpretation.”

This person went on to say that the word “Church” as translated in the all versions of Scripture is a deliberate attempt to separate Jews and Gentiles by the Catholic Church? Is this true?
