Old Earth Young Civilization?

Published: February 22, 2016 (Originally published: February 23, 2016)
Q

I believe that the reason the earth and the light from the stars appear old or mature is because God created them in a mature state. I take my theory from the creation of man and woman as they were created in mature state.

Why Do I Still Sin?

Published: February 22, 2016 (Originally published: February 23, 2016)
Q

I screw up every day! What a surprise, huh? I needed the article you sent me on forgiveness (Psalm 3). I feel bad and ask for forgiveness as soon as I mess up. I know the Lord forgives me, I just have a hard time forgiving myself! I never want to hurt my Father’s feelings, or cause Him shame, but sometimes I act before I think. Am I the only one who does this?

Forgiveness, Again

Published: February 20, 2016 (Originally published: February 24, 2016)
Q

I see in your discussion of forgiveness that a person does not have to repent for us to forgive them. But in the case of us and God, we must repent to receive forgiveness. Why is this not the same? How can the person receive forgiveness from another if they don’t think they have done anything wrong or allow pride to keep them from asking for it. I have a couple of people in my life that continually hurt me in horrible ways, and I have as little contact with them as possible, but I cannot eliminate them completely. They are not sorry, they do not repent, how can I possibly forgive them?

Was The Lord’s Glory Hidden?

Published: January 16, 2016 (Originally published: January 18, 2016)
Q

I was reading John 17 and two questions came to mind. Verses 1-5 describes the Father restoring Jesus’ glory. While Jesus was on this earth was his glory hidden or taken away so man would not recognize him as God? And my other question is, do you think he was referred to as the “Son” before he came to earth as a man? Or do you believe he might have been known as another name in heaven before that? Thanks for all that you do.

More On Fear and Faith

Published: January 16, 2016 (Originally published: January 17, 2016)
Q

I have a medical condition called anxiety, panic disorder. My brain does not produce enough seritonin. Panic disorder is an unknown and unrealistic fear. I have had this disorder all my life. According to God’s word fear and faith don’t mix. How does my condition relate to this? I have a lot of faith and when I have an attack instead of taking meds I pray. It goes away pretty quick when I pray. it bothers me that I am scared of everything for no good reason. How does the faith and fear issue work with this disorder?

Not Being Fed At Church

Published: January 9, 2016 (Originally published: January 15, 2016)
Q

Recently I was talking with our pastor regarding a pastor I had seen on TV. My my pastor said that he did not like this man because he was too pro-Israel. then he said, “I think we should support Israel and all, but I believe we are the NEW JEWS.” I was really taken aback by that comment. Too me, it seemed to imply that we, the Body of Christ, had replaced Israel, as taught in replacement theology. Also our pastor does not teach the Rapture, the Antichrist, or any of the End Times subject areas. My wife and I are both frustrated that we are not getting what we feel we need to be getting at church. We feel unfed. We do our own home Bible study every night at home, but remain unfulfilled at church. I pray about this every day. I know the Lord will make it clear to me in His own time, but any advice that you might be able to pass along would be greatly appreciated.

The Parable Of Two Sons

Published: January 9, 2016 (Originally published: January 14, 2016)
Q

In the Parable of the Two Sons (Matt. 21:28-32) Jesus told of a father telling his sons to work in the vineyard. The first son said he wouldn’t, but changed his mind and did. The second son said he would, but changed his mind and didn’t. When Jesus asked them which one did what the father wanted they all agreed is was the first son.

“What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’

” ‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.

“Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go.

“Which of the two did what his father wanted?” “The first,” they answered.

Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.”

I have always heard that in this parable Jesus was referring to the work in the church. But in a careful analysis I have found that this is not possible. The fact that Jesus choose that example for making an analogy does not mean that He was referring to any work at all, because at the end the Lord said that He was referring to John (the Baptist) who came to announce the coming of Christ. I would like to hear your comments about this.

Without Spot Or Wrinkle

Published: January 9, 2016 (Originally published: January 14, 2016)
Q

I have a pastor friend who says the rapture is a ways off. His reasoning is that Christ said He was coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle and the present day church is no where near that. Any light that you can shed on this verse would be greatly appreciated.

A Model Of The Rapture In Daniel 3

Published: January 12, 2016 (Originally published: January 15, 2016)
Q

In your article titled Rapture References, you have a sub-title, “Where Was Daniel?” It appears that Daniel was mysteriously missing from Chapter 3. Chapter 2 states that Daniel was set up as ruler over Babylon. Chapter 3, the famous fiery furnace chapter, states the statue to be worshiped was set up in Dura. Could it be that Daniel was just not “there” at that time? That the king went on a trip to Dura and Daniel stayed in Babylon. I would love for this to be a model of the rapture of the church, but I just don’t see it. Thank you for any clarification you can give.

What’s The Next Prophetic Event?

Published: January 16, 2016 (Originally published: January 17, 2016)
Q

I still hear people saying that the next fulfillment of prophecy will be the battle of Ezekiel 38. I have heard a lot of talk lately about how the current situation in Iran could mean the battle could start today, but from what I understand of the scriptures and your articles there are still several things that have yet to happen. I am wondering what your current thinking is on the next prophetic event?
