The “Lost” Books Of The Bible

Published: June 13, 2022 (Originally published: June 5, 2012)
Q

We had a conversation on the books that were not placed in the Bible and in reading the notes it was stated that these books were not considered to be inspired by the Spirit of God. But is there any truth to these books?

Expressing Our Gratitude. Follow Up

Published: June 13, 2022 (Originally published: June 15, 2013)
Q

Thank you so much for the wonderful teaching of God’s Word. You are doing a great job in helping so many others to understand fully what is written there. May God bless your life. In Expressing Our Gratitude you said, “When we’re walking with the Lord we have to override the Holy Spirit’s direction to prevent Him from manifesting good works in our life.” I don’t understand us having to ‘override’ the Holy Spirit’s direction. I thought we are to obey the Holy Spirit’s direction or allow Him to lead us. Can you explain?

The Righteous Perish

Published: June 14, 2022 (Originally published: June 6, 2012)
Q

I know that God knows when each one of us will die. Do you think that God may take the life of someone to prevent them from having to go thru something terrible? My daughter died when she was 8 years old. She was wonderful and believed in Jesus. Many years later I found out that something terrible had almost happened to her and probably would have again had she lived. I think that God took her to prevent that from happening to her, for I know that she is with Him now. Am I in error in my thinking?

Live Like Hell And Go To Heaven?

Published: June 14, 2022 (Originally published: June 6, 2012)
Q

Do you believe a person can backslide? Suppose a born-again person backslides and lives in open sin. The person leaves the Lord, lives a life of rebellion and sin and dies while in open rebellion. Will that person go to Heaven? Can we “Live like Hell and go to Heaven” because of Once Saved Always Saved?”

Is Jesus Still A Man?

Published: June 14, 2022 (Originally published: February 26, 2014)
Q

You have mentioned that Jesus is still in human form, represented by the reference to a Lamb “as it had been slain” in Rev. 5. This is an issue that has been bouncing around in my mind for about a year or so now.

I know Jesus did not lose his divinity by being born human. I know He was separated from His Father on the Cross when the global sins were heaped on Him. But He was restored at the Resurrection.

I understand what this means for me, but what are the lasting effects for Jesus based on His decision to become human and sacrifice Himself for mankind? I have the impression that this is more than Jesus coming to earth, dying, and going back to heaven, picking up where He left off.

God’s Calling Or Religious Works?

Published: June 15, 2022 (Originally published: June 27, 2012)
Q

I believe that I am forgiven of my sins by the blood of Jesus and that this was a gift of grace from God because I don’t deserve it. I also am acutely aware that we are not saved by works nor can we maintain salvation through works because Jesus paid the price once and for all, completely. That said, I have a compulsion to tell other people when I can about salvation through Jesus and the fulfillment of prophecy concerning Him and the end times. How do I discern whether what I feel compelled to is of the Lord Jesus or just human works? Should I stop what I am doing? The idea of being left behind after the rapture has led me to tears.

The Meaning Of Gentiles

Q

Are you serious about this word “gentiles”? Please look it up in the dictionary. It is a horrible word. I must tell you that this word does not appear in the Torah. It is a creation of a bad translation and it must be corrected. Remember GOD said “not a single word is to be changed”.

Did The Gates Of Hades Prevail?

Published: June 16, 2022 (Originally published: June 19, 2012)
Q

You have visited the seven churches in Turkey which are spoken of in the Book of Revelation. Paul spread the gospel to many cities in Turkey and wrote some of his best letters to the churches in Turkey, and the disciples were first called Christians (Acts 11:26) in Antioch – which is in Turkey. Considering Jesus said that the gates of Hades shall not prevail against the church (Matt 16:18), why is Turkey so predominantly Islam?

How Can They Claim To Be Christians?

Published: June 16, 2022 (Originally published: June 24, 2012)
Q

I agree that being reborn of the spirit is all that is ever required to be saved and the only good works that we can do are those requested by the Lord. I know that many of us often either don’t hear or ignore His Voice. What I question is what about those who refuse to listen or even believe His word. Can anyone be reborn and still think like that? I know that there is always hope for them, but how can they claim to be Christians?
