When Believing Isn’t Enough

Published: March 1, 2023 (Originally published: May 12, 2007)
Q

My question is this. If a person does not have a definite instance in their life where they declare that they are a sinner and accept Christ as Savior by praying something similar to the Sinner’s prayer (i.e. a salvation experience) are they really a believer? It was a topic of conversation with a friend who has no such experience yet believes she will go to heaven and longs to see Christ.

10 Dimensions

Published: March 1, 2023 (Originally published: May 12, 2007)
Q

A quantum mathematician in Japan has said that his math is telling him that there is 9 dimensions and the 9th dimension runs everything. This sounds to me a lot like parallel universes. What do you think about parallel universes and what is God doing with all of this?

King Solomon and The Queen Of Sheba

Published: March 2, 2023 (Originally published: December 1, 2012)
Q

I have a question about Solomon, I have read in several places that Solomon married the queen of Sheba but in the bible I can only find where she came to him to see if his fabled wisdom was true. Once she found out it was true the last I read of the queen of Sheba is that she returned to her land (1 kings 10:13). Am I missing something? Did Solomon marry the queen of Sheba? And where can I find that in the bible?

When Did Jesus Become God’s Son?

Published: March 2, 2023 (Originally published: August 14, 2013)
Q

Was Jesus the son of God from the beginning ? I mean did he give up his place in heaven as the son of God to be born on earth through Mary as a man? Also what happens after the one thousand year rule on earth by Christ is over does Jesus offer up the kingdom to God so heaven and earth become one like in the Lord’s prayer?

Holy Ghost And Holy Spirit

Published: March 3, 2023 (Originally published: May 8, 2007)
Q

Thanks again for this opportunity to ask a good bible teacher a question. Is there a difference between the Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit?

Example: Act 8:17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,

If they are one in the same, why did they have to lay hands on to recieve one time, and only had to believe another time.

Thank you very much for your time and God bless you even more.

The Olivet Discourse

Published: March 3, 2023 (Originally published: May 9, 2007)
Q

Many scholars teach that the Olivet Discourse was written for the Church, but you say the focus is on Israel. If you’re right why does the Olivet Discourse even appear in Mark and Luke when these two Gospels are mainly Gentile in their focus? Please explain.

What’s To Eat?

Published: March 3, 2023 (Originally published: May 9, 2007)
Q

Thank you for your ministry. I learn so much from your answers. I have a question about the Israelites and manna. When they left Egypt they soon complained about being hungry. God provided food for them in the form of quail and manna. Now, in Chapter 16 verse 35 it says that they ate manna for 40 years until they “…..came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.” Other scriptures indicate that they had animals with them. In chapter 24 Moses sacrifices oxen. Later, when God directs Moses to make the Tabernacle, there is an altar for burnt offerings and also a table for the showbread (which was to be made of fine flour).

My question is, if they had animals and grain, why did the need the manna for 40 years? Was it possibly a supplement to their diet, like vitamins? Or did they just have the animals for sacrifices and the flour for grain offerings?

Thank you so much, and may God continue to bless this ministry.

Distracted By Another Woman

Published: March 6, 2023 (Originally published: May 16, 2007)
Q

My husband and I just started a Bible class at Church and this past Sunday, a woman walked into the class and as she was sitting down could not take her eyes off my husband, and he kept looking at her as if they knew each other. I realized it was a women that he had saved a picture of in one of those dating sites I had found when we were dating at the beginning when we got together. He doesn’t realize I figured it out, but it really has been bothering me. He denies it. Should we find a different class, I don’t even know what the class was about because I was so preoccupied with this matter?

The Garden Of Eden

Published: March 6, 2023 (Originally published: May 16, 2007)
Q

Thank you so very much for your answers and help in clarifying different passages in Scripture. God has given you such keen insight, thank you for sharing with us.

I have a question about the garden of Eden. Where did it go? Was it taken to Heaven, or protected for awhile and then destroyed? Was it really located in the area they now call the Fertile Crescent?
