Published: October 25, 2016 (Originally published: October 24, 2009)
Q

I have not asked a question in a while, but I am a regular visitor to your site. I wanted to ask how a soul can be saved if they believe JESUS is in any way less than GOD himself?

Am I A Sorceress?

Published: October 25, 2016 (Originally published: October 24, 2009)
Q

I have a drug dependency problem. I love the Lord so much. I have tried and tried to quit. I have begged Him to take it from me. I hate, hate, hate having this dependency! I just can’t seem to get rid of it.

My question to you is this – when it talks about sorcery in the Bible, I have read that this really means drug use, instead of some sort of witchcraft. I know that sorcerers are an abomination to the Lord. I don’t want to be that! I really do love Him. Please help me sort this out. Do you have a word of knowledge for me? I want so much to get rid of this curse. I just don’t know how. God bless you for your wisdom.

The Annals Of The Kings

Published: October 25, 2016 (Originally published: October 27, 2009)
Q

I have been reading the old testament and have noticed references to the Kings of Judah and Israel, what appears to be an historical reference to the book of annals. I have copied some of the many verses that I have found in the OT below. Can you tell me what these books are and where would I be able to locate them to read.I have done numerous searches but have been unable to find them. Some of the results in my search has indicated that these books do not exist. We know the bible is God’s word, so if he mentions them in his word then they must be in existence. I can imagine these annals being extremely interesting and good reading to shed further light on the history of our fore bearers being the Jewish people.

Are Women Saved Through Childbirth?

Published: October 25, 2016 (Originally published: October 27, 2009)
Q

My question has to do with 1 Timothy 2:8-15 and in particular verse 15. As I was reading this morning, I read my wife this passage and she looked a me in amazement and with a resounding “what do you mean saved through childbearing?”.Now I know we are all saved by first believing in Jesus by grace through faith and nothing else. So does this verse have another meaning to being saved?

Babylonian Names On The Hebrew Calendar

Published: October 25, 2016 (Originally published: October 27, 2009)
Q

Thank you for taking the time to answer the questions of so many of us “eager beavers.” You continue to be a blessing to many. Here is my question: Why does the Hebrew calendar have a month named Tammuz? Is is more than a coincidence that that is the name of an idol/false god mentioned in the Bible? “Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD’S house which was toward the north; and behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.” Ezekiel 8:14. Are there other months in the Hebrew calendar that have such pagan sounding names? If so, why?

Are Pastors Preaching Heresy At Funerals?

Published: October 9, 2016 (Originally published: October 29, 2009)
Q

In one of your questions the person makes a statement about people going to heaven when they die. Your reply does not seem to answer this point fully, to my mind. My question is, where do they get their info from? Where in the Word does it say that anyone goes to heaven when they die?

I have been to funerals where the minister says the deceased has gone to be with the Lord, when this person never even went to church.  It seems to me that the people who are supposed to know what the Bible states, don’t know and therefore preach heresies.

Warrior Angels

Q

My question regarding Daniel 10: 13, “But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.”

Is this a physical resistance, spiritual, or some form of restraining that can’t be explained to a human? Do God sent angels and fallen angels fight in the sense that we humans fight with weapons? Or does the spirit world fight with words from the Lord?

Job Application Or Not?

Published: October 4, 2016 (Originally published: October 3, 2007)
Q

My hubby and I have an argument going like this. I feel it is wrong for a church to have a perspective worship team member, nursery worker, etc…to have to fill out a application form like when applying when one is looking for a job? My hubby says it is perfectly okay.

I have seen the apps and they ask about your past. Well, what if you were an alcoholic (like our pastor used to be) and then became born again and the Lord took the addiction away. Why should they have to put that down? Is it any of our business? I realize in today’s world we need to be careful but I thought the church was a different place than the world. Please answer this one!

Worthy Of Being Saved?

Published: October 4, 2016 (Originally published: October 4, 2007)
Q

I have a question about something you wrote that the law of double jeopardy isn’t a man made law. Tell me where in the Bible this comes in to play? I do think one needs to live (ultimately) to present our bodies a living sacrifice. Revelation says that Jesus is coming back for a spotless, perfect church. I realize no one is perfect, but we must strive towards the goal. I don’t want to live and say “Yes I sinned Lord, but I accepted you as my savior before that so that’s null and void.”

Why would he say in Matthew that many will come to me saying Lord, Lord; I have done many miracles and wonders in His name, but His response is turn away from me you workers of iniquity? I think we need to always bear in mind the Lord. For as Paul wrote, there is but one sacrifice for us, lest it be like we sacrifice him twice, which is not possible. He was warning us of falling away.

If even after we accept the Lord we sin, we must still repent, right?

In the end who am I to judge another’s beliefs? I cannot judge lest i also be judged.

My ultimate goal is to reach souls, and give my testimony of how the Lord delivered my husband and myself from certain death. I want to walk worthy of the calling. I apologize, if i seem offensive. I’m wanting to seek truth.
